Sometimes God writes the most beautiful stories in the most ordinary places. For Werner, one of those moments happened in a shuttle bus on the way to the airport terminal.
Standing beside him was a flight attendant. Werner asked her how much she usually flies. After giving her answer, she turned the question back to him. Smiling, Werner replied, “About six months a year.” Surprised, she asked if he was a pilot. His answer caught her off guard: “No, I’m a pastor.”
At that moment, her face lit up. She shared that just the night before, she had been watching The Chosen and found herself asking, “Where is Jesus?” Then, with deep honesty, she admitted, “I’m 59 years old, and my whole life I’ve been searching for God.”
Step by step—getting off the bus, moving onto the escalator—Werner explained the Gospel to her. Before they had to part ways, he prayed with her. Right there in the middle of the busy airport, tears streamed down her face as she surrendered her life to Jesus.
Two days later, she called Werner, full of joy, telling him how much she loves Jesus. Not long after, she asked if he could help her find a local church. Werner was able to connect her with believers in her area—her new spiritual family.
What began as a simple conversation in an airport shuttle turned into the start of a brand-new life in Christ.
