This year’s GO Day brought us a moment we’ll never forget.
While out in the community, we met a young man named Dani. He was living on the streets, caught in the grip of alcohol addiction, and had lost all contact with his family. He seemed lost, both physically and spiritually.
As we talked with him and shared hope, something shifted. We could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in a tangible way. Dani listened intently, opened up, and as we prayed together, it was as if a veil lifted. Light began to break through his darkness. His whole demeanor changed, he came back to life before our eyes.
When we asked where he was from, he mentioned a neighborhood called Cassequel do Lourenço. Without hesitation, five of us walked with him there. As we entered the area, Dani suddenly stopped. He looked around, recognizing the place. Then he saw it – his home.
What happened next was nothing short of miraculous.
His family came out and embraced him with tears of joy. They welcomed him with open arms, overwhelmed by emotion and gratitude. A son had returned. A brother had come home.
This wasn’t just an outreach – it was a divine encounter. We witnessed the Holy Spirit in action, restoring what was lost and healing what was broken.
Moments like these remind us: when we show up with open hearts, God does the rest.
